Women in Trees
:: Vintage photographs discovered on flea market excursions alerted collector Jochen Raiss to this phenomenon, which was remarkably popular between the 1920s and 1950s yet never made into a book—until now. These photographs, compiled by Raiss over 25 years, feature young women at dizzying heights, often smiling into the camera as if they were in love. Whether the women are cheerfully dangling their legs, casually nestling in the branches, or athletically climbing to the treetop, each picture has its own story to tell.
